Evening Satellite Club Meeting via ZOOM
President Robert Bull welcomed everyone to our May 18
th meeting. This was our 47
th meeting of this fiscal year and the First Meeting of the
Rotary Club of Miami Evening Satellite Club. 
Jay Almeida gave the invocation. Robin Shelley led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Reviewed Origins of Rotary and Miami Rotary Club: We reviewed the origins of Rotary in 1905 with its four original Members,
Paul Harris, Sylvester Schiele, Gus Loehr and
Hiram Shorey. We had a good discussions about the beginnings of Rotary, including it’s earlier National Conventions.

The
Rotary Club of Miami was founded in 1917 by
Dr. James Jackson and many of the early business leaders of Miami were Members of our Club.

TBM – Thomas Brown McClelland established a trust for Medical Students. One of the prerequisites to qualify as a candidate is to have graduated from a Miami Dade High School.
Phil Seipp has been instrumental with the interview process.

Future Projects: these will include beehive placements in the county and working on saving Biscayne Bay from the brink.

Renew Your Membership: Another reminder to renew your membership was discussed. An email on this topic went out. Our dues are very reasonable just $200/year. Please pay by June 15
th to avoid a $20 late fee. If you pay by credit card or PayPal, the total is $204 to cover the service fees. Please get this done soonest. We do not want to chase after stragglers.

Barry Rassin: Will be our keynote speaker this Thursday. We are expecting a many attendees and a memorable meeting.
