President Dave Skinner welcomed everyone to the meeting. Marcia Brod gave an invocation and Angel Rodriguez led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Announcements:
The speaker for Oct. 4 is Chris Caines of FIU Miami Urban Future Initiative. The presentation is entitled “Magic City's Urban Future: Economic trends, challenges, and opportunities in Greater Miami”;
Another Zoom online conferencing training is being planned for anyone who has not yet participated;
Rotary Means Business encourages Rotarians to support the success of their fellow Rotarians by doing business with them and making referrals to them. A meeting is being planned to highlight our members’ vocations. Those interested in participating in this program should contact President Dave;
A reminder to anyone taking photos at the meeting or an event – please forward them to Dave so they can be uploaded to the website in a timely manner.

Scott was happy to be back at the meeting and is looking forward to both his children celebrating birthdays next week. (Just a reminder Scott – that also means that you are aging as well!);
Marcia Brod was happy that hubby Lenny had his first cataract surgery completed – one more to go in a couple of weeks. She also was thrilled to announce that her older daughter, Stephanie, is now engaged;
Renel Noel is happy to see Diane Landsberg back with us. He is also heading to Haiti with a team to install a donated digital x-ray machine;
Amelia Bonilla was happy that her son is turning 2. She feels that being a parent is a blessing (hopefully her son with not be a “terrible” 2 and change her mind during the next year). Amelia is also thrilled to have been named godmother to her nephew;
Robin and Susan Shelley enjoyed a wonderful evening at a Best Buddies fundraiser;
Noreen Timoney was glad to see Diane at the meeting today and thanked Robin and Susan Shelley for introducing her to the 200 Club;
Randy Lichtman thanked Diane Landsberg for hosting a productive strategy session for the Miami Senior High and Young Men’s Preparatory Academy Interact Clubs;
Dave Skinner was just excited to be at the meeting;
Angela Deggs has returned from a wonderful birthday celebration with her daughter in Bali. She is grateful to be back in the USA and able to drink clean water from the tap.
Today’s Program was introduced by Randy Lichtman:
Angelica Coronel is the Job Developer and lead program staff for the MEED (Model for Enhanced Employment Development) program at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus;
The program provides career and employment development services to students with disabilities college-wide, serving students across eight different campuses;
A recent $250,000 grant will support the expansion of the MEED to further develop collaborative relationships with possible employment partners in the community;
Incentives and added benefits are available to employers willing to partner with the MEED program and hire students with disabilities.
The 50/50 Raffle started anew today after Robert Bull’s repeat win. The club put up $100 and $71 in tickets were sold. Rick Miller had the lucky ticket, but he was unable to draw the Ace of Spades, so the pot for next week begins at $146.
Cory Gittner led everyone in the 4-Way Test of the Things We Think, Say or Do.
