Today’s Speaker

  • Randy Lichtman introduced today’s speaker Jorge Ortega. Jorge is the Cybersecurity Center Director at Miami Dade College. He has 20+ years of experience across technology and business within a diverse group of organizations, from start-up ventures to multinational corporations.

  • Mr. Ortega spoke about a multitude of technology issues. When speaking about Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) he posed the question – Is A.I. a friend or foe? He feels it is a bit too early to decide. A.I. is here to stay and it will be interesting to see the many ways that it will help us in the future. How the technology can be used in a negative way is keeping folks on alert.

  • He also advised those listening to be very aware of the information that we personally give out and also the need to be diligent in our use of social media in all forms.

  • Currently Jorge is focused on helping organizations use emerging technologies and innovation to improve business operations.
