Rote for July 14th Happy Hour Meeting
President Robert Bull welcomed Members and Guests to our July 14th Happy Hour Meeting at 6:30 PM.
July 14th is Bastille Day, French National Holiday. The invocation was the Blessing over the wine.
Birthday announcements were Lenny Brod, Marcia husband, on the same date, July 14th. Rick Hernandez’ birthday was on July 15th. BTW, he is in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico enjoying a bit of time away from Miami. Susan Shelley has an upcoming birthday on July 19th.
To commemorate France’s National Holiday, Bastille Day, we had a Trivia Game that explored the close ties that France and the United States have had since before the time of the Revolutionary War.
We also had a few guests: Dr. Steve Fein, who earned TBM scholar in 1992. Ms. Dunia Miranda, from the Guatemalan Consulate and Hugo Montaudon, who lives in Pinecrest and met Robert during his “Trashercise” morning efforts.
Cathy Cahill earned the First Place in the Trivia Game and won a bottle of French wine. Dave Anderson was in second place and won a bottle of Dijon mustard. While Carlos Bonadies, was third and won a small bottle of champagne.
Happy Hours: Robert Bull was happy that a friend of his who is vacationing in Cancun will bring him a few boxes of much needed medicine at a low price. Janumet costs about $8/pill in Miami and in Mexico the same Medicine is $1/pill.
Robin thanked Norby Rudel for helping him in learning how to use ZOOM as a presenter and how to show a PowerPoint during the presentation.
Cathy Cahill was happy as she is going to be a grandmother, yet again. Her fourth grandchild.
Dave Anderson wanted to thank all of the first responders. We do not fully understand how important they are. Just recently, his wife, Nelly, saved a lady using CPR.
Hugo Montaudon, a guest at the meeting, was happy to participate in our meeting especially since it is Bastille Day.
The next Happy Hour is scheduled for August 26, Equality Day. This day commemorates the Hundredth anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote.
