Miami Yacht Club

• Glenn Miller is a visiting Rotarian from the Downtown York Pennsylvania Rotary Club.  His club boasts of being the 24^th largest club in Rotary.  Glenn is a Vice President at Spiritrust.
• Heather Griffin is a member of the Joplin Missouri Daybreak Rotary Club.  She is director of the Tri-State Area Contractors Association and enjoying Miami while her husband is here on business.
• Michael Wish is from the Randolph Rotary Club in Avon, MA.  Avon is the smallest town in Massachusetts and their club is also small (8 members), but very active.
• Michael Hilsbos is now a Miamian and looking to join a Rotary Club – he’s visited The Rotary Club of Miami twice – that could be a good sign that he’s found a home!
• Caroline de Posada is the daughter of former Rotary Club of Miami member Joachim de Posada who recently passed away.  She is an attorney and now interested in following in Dad’s footsteps as a professional speaker.  She is also considering following him in Rotary by becoming a member.  We’d love to have you, Caroline!
• Dave Bricker is the owner of The World’s Greatest Book.  He helps people write their stories – and oh the stories they have to tell!!!
• BeBe MacDermott continues to enjoy visiting the club.

• Robin was the first contributor and he shared how blessed he feels to be at Rotary and in being part of the Rotary International family.
• Susan Shelley was glad to be at the meeting with all those gathered.
• Jeff Stoller, today’s speaker, was happy to be at Rotary.
• Linda Singer couldn’t be happier – after all, she is married to Dave Skinner.
• Tina Moore was happy to be at the meeting and is looking forward to becoming a member.
• Oliver Ruiz, incoming 2016-17 club president, thanked Robin and Suzie Shelley for hosting an organizational meeting for the 100^th anniversary celebration and agreeing to chair the event. The event will be held in March 2017 and many opportunities for member participation in its organizing will be available.
• Phil Seipp announced that Tina is now ready for membership – she’s all paid up!!  He also was happy to have Caroline at the meeting.  As TBM Co-Chair, Phil shared that we have 75 applications – the largest ever – with many submissions coming from FIU.
• Dave Skinner was happy to receive his new badge.
• Renel Noel was happy to be alive after a very scary fire incident in a truck he was working on.  He praised the folks at Jackson and is now participating in a medical study to complete his recovery. 
• Ted Malinin was happy for a patent decision by the court in his favor.
• Dave Anderson had a wonderful time on the Club’s cruise and thanked Jair de Almeida for organizing it.
• Randy Lichtman reminded everyone that the Peace Conference will not be held on Feb. 27 and will be rescheduled for some time in the fall.

• Jeff Stoller is the author of You Want To Be An Entrepreneur, a new book offering a blueprint for small business owners.
• The book offers a primer on marketing, finance, law, production, accounting and everything that is the foundation of any solid business.
• Jeff attended USC. His professional background is varied and includes being an attorney, accountant and business consultant 
• Jeff believes that we all have dreams and the main issue to achieving those dreams is the proper intersection of one’s dreams with reality.
• Ego is often a problem when it comes to a successful venture. The psychological effect of failure can be staggering on the individual and their entire family.
• As a consultant, Jeff finds most people coming to him after they have gotten in over their heads. He wanted to emphasize how important it is to be realistic in ones expectations, be prepared, ask questions and be aware of the many possible obstacles on the road to success.
