The Miami Yacht Club
President Dave Skinner welcomed members and guests to the final meeting of his presidency. To honor the occasion wine was available. He said “we have a packed schedule so we’ll try to keep the program moving”!! Jay Almeida gave a short invocation asking for Blessings on Dave, our outgoing President, and Norby Rudel, our newly installed President. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Angel Rodriguez.
VISITORS & GUESTS were introduced by Rick Miller:
- Jan Figa - Library Director at Barry Unversity
- Alberto Diaz – Assistant Director of Financial Assistance at FIU Medical School
- Ron Gerstl – a former Rotary Club of Miami member
- Randy Jimenez – advisor to the Interact Club at Miami High and an Honorary Member of our Rotary Club
- Melissa Magalhaes – Miami Senior High Student – Interact Chair
All were heartily welcomed.
ANNOUNCEMENTS – President Dave announced that the 50/50 was now up to $1,286 carried over. Only 18 cards left in the deck. Renel Noel was selling today’s tickets.
HAPPY $$$$S – Amelia Bonilla conducted Happy $$$s. The money contributed today will go towards TBM. There were many happy folks today and they included:

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION
Past President Dave Anderson inducted ALBERTO DIAZ JR. and JAN FIGA as members. Dave said he was very honored to be carrying out this task.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
President Dave Skinner gave out Appreciation Certificates to all Board Members for the 2018/2019 year. All members also received monogrammed Rotary bags.

Marcia Brod – Queen of Scribes - Marcia then thanked and introduced her Tribe of Scribes Shirley Pardon, Linda Singer, Amelia Bonilla and Jaime Tobin (not present) giving them each a medallion and a fluffy ball pen!

Incoming President Norby Rudel was presented with A Ship’s (Rotary) Wheel and a “Do Not Be Afraid to Fail” pin.
Outgoing President Dave Skinner was acknowledged with a past President’s pin and his own personal Gavel. He thanked everyone for their support during his Presidency and thanked his wife Linda for all her support.
50/50 DRAWING
Renel Noel, with the help of Melissa Magalhaes, called the winning ticket. Dr. Ted Malinin’s number was drawn but he did not choose the Ace of Spades. The amount rolls over to the next meeting.
President Dave read a letter from Virginia Jacko – CEO of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind – thanking the Club for their contribution of $500.
