Midday Meeting via ZOOM
President Robert Bull welcomed everyone to our June 10
th ZOOM Meeting. This was our 51st meeting of this fiscal year. We had sixty-five attendees, including Rotarians from several Clubs in India, Pakistan, Spain and Guatemala.

Jay Almeida gave the invocation.
Arlene Terrinoni led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Announcements:
Today is
National Egg Roll Day and Robert showed us the two egg rolls his is going to eat during our meeting.

So as not to be thirsty, he was going to have an Ice Tea, as today is also
National Ice Day. 
Annual Dues: Dues for the 2021 – 2022 Fiscal Year are due. Please make your payment right away. We will be not want to have to chase after stragglers.

#IFixThePlanet Video Competition: While our Club did not qualify amongst the Top 7 videos, we did show up a few times in the teaser video that was produced.
Jay Almeida then showed us that video.

Keynote Speaker:
Robert Bull introduced our keynote speaker,
Dr. Richard Hansen, a world renown archeologist who has worked over the past twenty plus years in the jungles of Peten excavating Mayan ruins in an area called
El Mirador.

Dr. Hansen’s presentation was absolutely fantastic. After the Q&A period,
Robert Bull presented
Richard Hansen with a Certificate of Appreciation and mentioned that a tree will be planted in his honor at our next tree planting. We will email a photo of the tree with the dedication.
New Member Induction: David Anderson had the honor of inducting two new Members to our club. Saji George is a fairly recent arrival to Miami, arriving from Freehold, New Jersey. He has been a Member of the Freehold Rotary Club since 2012, where he was an active Member of their Club and even completed the Rotary Leadership Program I, II and IiI. He provided technology support to conduct the RYLA programs there. Saji is married to Kavita and they have a daughter, Emily. Amadeus Huff is also a recent arrival to Miami. He lives in Miami Beach and works to the City of Miami Beach as a Commission Aide. He has travelled extensively throughout Europe. He is an energetic, upcoming talented individual, exactly the profile we need to help grow our Club further. Amadeus wants to be involved in projects that support our military and veterans, and international affairs.
Miami Senior High School Interact Club: Randy Jimenez the Club’s faculty advisor over the past four years will be stepping down from this position as he is going to pursue further academic studies and will not have time to fully handle this job. Thank you, Randy, for your service.

Rotary EndPlasticSoup Action Day: June 5
th was a Worldwide
Rotary EndPlasticSoup Action Day. Several of our Members did participate and helped cleanup their neighborhood. Robert showed us some photos.

Father’s Day: Father’s Day is coming up, so at our June 17
th meeting we will have a raffle of a Rotary bag full of goodies. Hurry up and buy your tickets. Time is running out. Tickets are just $1/place on the Picker Wheel.

Installation of the 105th President:
Noreen Timoney will be installed as the 105
th President of our Club on June 25
th. This event will be held at the Miami Police Benevolent Association Hall. June 15
th is the last day to RSVP.

TBM Alumni News: Marcia Brod issued the latest TBM newsletter earlier this week. Its four pages long and we should all be proud of the accomplishments of our
TBM Scholars.

Patti Urban led us in the
Four Way Test to end our meeting.
